Ever since Google debuted Night Sight with the Pixel 3, we have seen other OEMs like OnePlus, Xiaomi, and others race to implement a similar feature on their flagship devices. Now, Samsung also seems to be working on a similar feature which could possibly debut on the Galaxy S10.

An XDA report claims that Samsung is working on its own Night Sight-like feature dubbed Bright Night. The references to this feature were found inside the latest Camera APK of One UI for the Galaxy Note 9. The text in the code highlights that Bright Night can be used to “take bright pictures even in very dark conditions.”

Samsung’s implementation will be similar to others. With Bright Night mode enabled, the phone will take multiple photos of varying exposure and then merge them into one for a brighter and more detailed photo in extreme low-light scenarios. The phone will not rely on LED flash to brighten up the scene and it will require users to hold their phone steady for a few seconds.

While the Camera APK does not mention anything, it is likely that we will see Samsung unveil this feature with its upcoming Galaxy S10. It is possible that Samsung can bring the feature to the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 with the final One UI/Android 9.0 Pie update, though the chances of this happening are pretty slim.
